FINANCIAL INCREASE

Date: January 24

Category: Prosperity

Jeremiah 31:12-15
"They shall come and sing aloud on the height of Zion and shall flow together and be radiant with joy over the goodness of the Lord – for the corn, for the juice [of the grape], for the oil, and for the young of the flock, and the herd. And their life shall be like a watered garden, and they shall not sorrow or languish any more at all. Then will the maidens rejoice in the dance, and the young men and old together. For I will turn their mourning into joy and will comfort them, and make them rejoice over their sorrow. I will satisfy fully the life of the priests with abundance [of offerings shared with them], and My people will be satisfied with My goodness, says the Lord."

Slobodan & Ljiljana KrstevskiThis is a wonderful word of God. It says that God is going to turn our mourning into joy. The word ‘joy' is mentioned a few times in these passages. First it says in verse 12a that you'll "be radiant with joy over the goodness of the Lord" To be radiant with joy is really to be beaming or glowing with joy. But how can we recognize the goodness of God in our lives? Well verse 12b says, "for the corn, for the juice [of the grape], for the oil, and for the young of the flock, and the herd." A signature of God's goodness is when we have food to eat.

When you increase financially, that is the goodness of God. When you can work and earn money, that is the goodness of God. The goodness of God is really God's provision in your life. When you are hungry and there is food in the fridge, recognize that that is the goodness of God. When you are thirsty and there is clean water to drink, recognize that that is the goodness of God. Whenever you need anything and God provides it, know that God is conveying His goodness in your life.

Then it says in verse 13b, "make them rejoice over their sorrows." Sorrow comes to all of us at times, but God will turn that sorrow around and you will rejoice instead. And verse 14 teaches us how that will happen in our lives. It says, "I will satisfy fully the life of the priests with abundance [of offerings shared with them], and My people will be satisfied with My goodness, says the Lord." So the ministers of the Gospel should have more than enough. They should not have to struggle financially. When they have that abundance, then their people will be satisfied with God's goodness. Being satisfied with God's goodness happens after we've given to the Lord's servants.

If you earn a living but you keep all of that money for yourself, you will not be satisfied with the goodness of God. When you progress and grow and when you develop materially, you will have joy. But if you want to be satisfied in God's goodness, then you need to give to the ministers of the Gospel. If the Lord's servant doesn't have enough, then you will not be satisfied regardless of how much you have.

So giving to your church, giving to missions, giving to the workers of God is the key to your satisfaction. The blessing of God comes upon those who support the workers of God. Rejoicing in the goodness of God comes from our progression as God blesses and provides for us. But being satisfied comes from blessing the servants of God. We can all rejoice in the goodness of God, but to be fully satisfied in the goodness of God really depends on our giving.
