2 Chronicles 7:14-15
"If My people, who are called by My name shall humble themselves, pray, seek, crave, and require of necessity My face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven, forgive their sin, and heal their land. Now My eyes will be open and My ears attentive to prayer offered in this place."

Slobodan & Ljiljana KrstevskiThese are very powerful verses. In this passage, God gives us a conditional promise. A conditional promise means that before the promise can be fulfilled, there is a requirement that we must complete first. In verse 14, God says, "If My people, who are called by My name shall humble themselves…" You may wonder what exactly it means to be humble. Well, prayer is a sign of humbleness. Why do you pray? You pray because you realize you have a need. You need God's divine assistance to help you do something. You realize that you can't meet that need on your own, so you pray. The second sign of humbleness is seeking God. Have you ever sought after something so diligently that you began to sweat? Well, that's how you are to seek God. You are to push yourself to read His Word and obey His commandments. You are to push yourself to know God more.

Then verse 14 says that you have to crave after God. Have you ever craved a type of food so badly –like chocolate for example? Craving something is the desperate need to have it no matter what. That's how you should crave God.

Then it says that you have to require of necessity God's face. That means realizing that you truly need God, realizing that you can't do anything without Him. God becomes the most important necessity to you. Seeking His face really means seeking His presence. You have to live your life consciously aware that God is all around you. Whatever you do, God sees. Whatever you say, God hears. You have to live your life for the glory of God, open your mouth for the glory of God, and do everything you do for the glory of God. Seeking His face is seeking to know God's character, to know His mind and His heart.

So, after you've humbled yourself and after you've sought after God, there is a third thing you have to do if you want God to work in your life. You have to turn from your wicked ways. If you have lived a way that has been against God's will, God says here, ‘Turn away from it.'

So, those are the three things that God requires us to do in our lives. First, we have to humble ourselves. Then we have to seek His face, and thirdly we have to turn away from our wicked ways. Once we have done those three things, there are three things that God promises He will do for us in return. He promises to hear us from heaven, forgive us of our sins, and heal our land.

So, when you do your three things, then God will do His three things. First, He will hear your prayers. Then He'll forgive you of your sins, meaning He'll wash them away and remove your guilt. Once He forgives you of your sins, then comes the healing of the land. After that comes wellness and prosperity. All of your prosperity depends on God. That's why you and I need to become humble. That's why we need to seek His face, and we need to turn away from our sins. When we do those three things, God will bless us with the three things He has promised us. He will hear our prayers, forgive us of our sins, and will heal our land.
