“TAKE WHAT I PROMISED YOU”

Date: February 24

Category: Prosperity

Deuteronomy 1:8
"Behold, I have set the land before you; go in and take possession of the land which the Lord swore to your fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give to them and to their descendants after them."

Slobodan & Ljiljana KrstevskiGod made the nation of Israel a promise. He promised to give them this land. But notice that He doesn't just tell the Israelites to sit back and receive it. He tells them to "go in and take possession of the land." In other words, they had to go and fight for what God promised them.

If you want things to happen in your life, you've got to go out there and make them happen. If you want a promotion at your workplace, do more than what you need to and your promotion will come. You can blame as many people as you want for the lack of success, lack of money, and lack of opportunities in your life, but really you are the one who creates your own future. You are the one who determines how successful you're going to be. As long as you blame someone else, you'll never be successful.

If you want to gain something in life, then you've got to do something for it. If you don't put anything in, you won't get anything back. Your success depends on your actions. God will not force success upon you. You have to work in order to receive it. God will not push you; others will not push you. But if you decide to push yourself, God and others will help you.

The teaching is so clear and yet many of us expect things to happen by themselves. But in reality, nothing planted means nothing reaped. If you don't plant anything in your garden, all you'll get are weeds. If you want something good to grow out of your garden, you've got to pull out those weeds and plant some good seeds.

So ask yourself, "What am I doing today and what will that bring me tomorrow?" You have to determine where you want to be and then do what it takes to get there. I have never seen a garden grow without any seeds. I have never seen a house get built without workers. I have never seen a person become prosperous by doing nothing.

In this case, God had already given the land to the Israelites, but it was their job to go and possess it. So God already gives us everything that we need, all the successes, the fulfillment, all the blessings that we need in life. But we have to go and take it, meaning we have to go and work for it.
