TURN TOWARDS GOD

"Make the heart of this people fat; and make their ears heavy and shut their eyes, lest they see with their eyes and hear with their ears and understand with their hearts and turn again and be healed."
This is the word of the Lord, which the prophet, Isaiah spoke. The sixth chapter of the book of Isaiah is where God calls Isaiah to the ministry. He was called to prophesy to the Israelites, and he did so for almost forty years. He is one of the longest serving prophets in the Old Testament.
In verse 9, we read, "And He said, Go and tell this people, Hear and hear continually, but understand not; and see and see continually, but do not apprehend with your mind." Despite how long the Word of God was being preached to them, these people did not change their ways. They kept doing what they wanted. Because they chose not to change, it says in verse 10 that God made "their ears heavy and shut their eyes." In other words, they weren't able to hear what God was saying. They weren't able to see what God was doing in their lives. They weren't able to perceive God's punishment in that.
The purpose of our ears is to hear what God says. The purpose of our eyes is to see what God does. The purpose of our hearts is to understand what our actions should be in obedience to what God says and does. But in this case, God was going to punish the Israelites by making their ears heavy and shutting their eyes. The purpose of this punishment was so they would "turn again and be healed" [verse 10b]. In Hebrew, the words, ‘turn again' really means ‘change course.' So it was God's desire for these people to change course and turn back to Him.
If you have turned away from God and have gone your own way, God instructs you here to stop doing what you have been doing and turn to Him again. We shouldn't work against what God says. We should work in line with what God says. Through our obedience, healing will come. Sometimes sicknesses are a result of disobedience. But God says here that we can be healed if we turn towards Him.
If you choose to live your life in disobedience to the Lord, then this verse says that you will have eyes but not be able to see, and you will have ears but not be able to hear. You will have a heart but not be able to understand. You are going to continue on in your ways growing farther and farther away from God, and eventually, you are going to get sick, but healing will not come. However, if you decide to live the way the Word of God says you should live, you will see and hear what God is doing. You will understand how you are to respond to God, and you will be healed and blessed.
So remember: your ears have been given to you so you can hear the Word of God. Ask yourself if you are listening to what God says. Your eyes have been given to you so you can see the works of God. So ask yourself if you are looking to see how God is working in this life. And your heart has been given to you so you can understand what to do in order to please God. It's really your choice whether or not you are going to serve God. You decide if you're going to turn towards your own selfish ways or if you're going to do what God wants you to do. If you choose to be obedient to God, only then will healing come; only then will blessing come. So make the right decision today. Turn towards God and follow His ways.
