GOD LOVES YOU

"For God so greatly loved and dearly prized the world that He [even] gave up His only begotten (unique) Son, so that whosoever believes in (trusts in, clings to, relies on) Him shall not perish (come to destruction, be lost) but have eternal (everlasting) life."
This is a classic verse. It says that God greatly loved you and I. The word ‘love' here in the Greek original is ‘agape' which means an undeserving love. God loves us unconditionally, regardless of whether we deserve it or not. We don't have to earn God's love. Because He loves us, it says, "He [even] gave up His only begotten (unique) Son…" God had one Son, and He gave Him up for you and I. So love is expressed through giving. It's possible to give without love, but it's impossible to love and not give. That's how God shows us His love. Out of that great love, He gave Jesus Christ for you and I.
We show our love through giving in our own relationships as well. I can't say that I love my wife but not give to her. I can't withhold giving her affections, attention, and care but still say that I love her. Likewise, she cannot love me without respecting me and showing me affection and attention as well. If I withhold giving care, attention, food, clothing, and protection to my children, then I can't say that I love them. So, neither can you say that you love God without giving something to Him to express that love. Love is expressed through actions; it is expressed through giving.
When you love God, your actions will prove that love through obedience. God proved His love for us through actions as well. He gave His Son for us. But why did God do it? Well this verse says, "…so that whoever believes in (trusts in, clings to, relies on) Him shall not perish (come to destruction, be lost) but have eternal (everlasting) life." Because Jesus sacrificed His life on the cross of Calvary, we can now be forgiven for our sins when we confess and repent from them. When you accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, you will have the new life that God provides.
You don't have to deserve God's love. You don't have to earn God's forgiveness. All you have to do is accept the work of Calvary, confess your sins, and He will forgive you, and He will wash your sins away. He will give you a new life. He will give you the Holy Spirit. That way you can walk in obedience to His Word and reap the blessings of obedience. He did all of this for you because His love for you is unconditional. So be assured that regardless of what happens in your life, God loves you.
