Durminka Zdravkovic

Durminka is a refugee from Bosnia who comes from a Muslim background. When we visited her area, we brought a truckload of food to distribute to the refugees. She was one of those who came to receive aid. During that time, we also preached a message about Jesus Christ, and she was one of the 105 people who received the Lord Jesus into her heart. But even though her heart has changed, her living conditions haven’t.

When we think of a barn, we usually associate it with farm animals like cows, horses, chickens, and pigs. But for one poor refugee family, a barn has become a home.

Minire Audiu Testimony

“When the war started, it seemed to be mostly in the villages. We lived in the city so we thought, ‘Maybe they would only be fighting in the villages.’ But then telephones and electricity were being cut in the city, and civilians began to be killed. So we put blankets on our windows and stayed inside, hoping no one would notice we were there. The police then burned many houses and killed three more civilians. They left the bodies lying out for four days and then threw them in the cemetery. Soon after this, police began breaking into stores and burning them.

Gashi (Family of 13)

Gashi and his wife have 11 children, and the youngest one is only two weeks old. This 13-member family lives in a 120-square-foot home. In Canada, legally every person has to have a living area of at least 75 square feet. This family of 13 only has a living area of 120 square feet. We can only imagine how hard it must be for them to sleep at night.

Salami and Julie Kovani

When we visited Salami and Julie, we learned that they have four children and one on the way. They shared with us that they were refugees from Kosovo and they arrived in Belgrade, Serbia three years ago. Now they live in very appalling conditions. Their shack house is made of cardboard and metal sheets with a mud floor on the inside. And the walls are wet from the humidity.

Franja Abci Testimony

For the past four years, we’ve been helping a refugee camp here in Pancevo, Serbia where refugees from Bosnia and Kosovo come. What we have done so far in that refugee camp is we’ve distributed humanitarian aid. We’ve given them meat, something they cannot buy themselves, and also pasta and some hygiene items. They were very blessed by the help we have brought.

We ministered and distributed humanitarian aid in Belgrade, Pancevo, Zemun and Kacarevo.
